LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS

The mission of The Parks Chamber Legislative Affairs Committee is to advocate for a competitive business climate in Winnebago County, Illinois.

We will collaborate with community leaders to help our region emerge from this economic downturn early, equitably, and sustainably.

We will host The Parks Chamber Legislative Event Series that features “State of” addresses by our region's leaders that highlight current initiatives and successes. Our primary goal of the Series is to directly connect the business community with legislative and government leaders so they can hear from – and speak to – them directly. The October "State of The Parks" event will serve as The Parks Chamber Annual Meeting. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS.

We will also take an active role in representing our members’ business interests, leveraging relationships with local leaders and elected officials.

On April 26, 2021, The Parks Chamber announced that it joined nearly 50 chambers of commerce from across the State of Illinois in support of a new initiative called “Chambers All In for Economic Recovery.” This growing coalition urges the Illinois Legislature to prioritize economic relief for Illinois' businesses. The platform includes various recommendations designed to aid businesses' bottom line, recover from the devastating impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, and establish pathways for constructive collaboration with the public sector.
